"The Money Tree" is a very cool storybook. Like most kids I could relate to Tyler and how he felt when his parents refused to buy him a toy that he wanted. Tyler had to figure out a way to earn money all on his own without any help from his parents. Tyler tried so many ways to grow his money but learned in the end that saving and sharing was way more important than buying his new toy. The illustrations in The Money Tree are colorful and the story is funny and educational. Learning about money can be boring for kids. But the illustrations and the funny ways Tyler tried to grow his money made learning about money interesting and fun.

LaDonna draws inspiration for her book ideas from several typical parenting routines: watching her children play or argue, overhearing them sing or talk, and listening to all the amazing ideas, concerns, and requests that they come up with. The Money Tree is the first, but her children have inspired many more literary surprises already in the works! LaDonna and her husband reside in New York and have four wonderful children, all with intriguing and different personalities, like the characters she creates in her storybooks.
