Review: Vera and the Dream Thief

Wow!!! I really enjoyed reading “Vera and the Dream Thief!” It is very descriptive and since it's a comic, I understand how the characters in the story feel because of the awesome illustrations! The story line was entertaining and held my attention from the beginning until the ending. I loved that the story has many African American characters, including a female heroine. You usually don't see many female heroines in comic books. Vera was not only a courageous heroine in the story, she was also very smart. For example, she put the chemicals on her shoes before they went to catch the thief so they wouldn't get lost. I think books featuring strong female characters of color are important. So, when my younger sister is a little bit older, she will have plenty of books featuring strong female characters that look just like her. I hope that the author will write more books soon!!!!
